EXUBERANT Gift Givers..... hold
your horses.....Our horses look, in
size and touch, very real to little ones. Little ones have vivid and memorable
minds. (Don't you just love those little skulls of mush you influence
with love and compassion; I do.)
Imprint training starts the horse-human
relationship off right. For a short time after presenting the new horse
to its new rider both are free of fear and completely open to learning.
During that magical time, both can learn to accept and understand each
other. Patience is a gift that rewards all.
Please, DO NOT:
1. Present the horse,
2. lift your little rider up and put them in the
saddle,
3. say Getty up, yippee yi yo, Ride 'um. If you
do, you may scare all the fun and love away you imagined.
IT IS BEST TO:
1. Let your rider decide when to get on, even if
it takes a day, week or more.
2. Let your rider decide when to get off;
3. HELP THEN IMMEDIATELY get off. Do not
suggest they get back on until they are ready.
4. You will be rewarded with a rider in love
with their steed and not afraid to ride.
FYI: You may have created another problem we know
about: Your rider will want to get out of bed, past bedtime and ride.
Solution: Time to put the pony in its bed (barn/stall /closet and turn
off the light). Don't forget the good-night, love you hug from both of
you.
I am a professional Hunter/jumper trainer and when I found your web
site I knew this was the only place to buy my 20 month old twin girls
their first rocking horses. I love the fact that you are True Horse
People and that my girls can learn how to tack up their "first" horses
in the comfort of their home. As a professional, I cannot tell you how
happy it made me to see your advice to parents telling them not push
their little ones into riding right away and letting them tell the
parents when they are ready. I applaud how you run your business and
loved your web site. Sincerely, Heather McCombs-Hoh Hunter/Jumper
Trainer Parker, Colorado - thanks Heather, Jerry
FYI:
Our daughter, Margo - 4yrs (very tall girl), has out grown her large
horse. She is horse crazy and is taking riding lesson. The rocking
horses are not only excellent entertainment for her, it is functional
practice between her lessons. Her instructor has even commented how well
she retains skills between lessons. We have looked at many suppliers
(numerous overseas) and for what appears to be quality and 'practical'
design you have a stellar niche. Thank you, Chris and Elizabeth Hinckley
We showed
him the horse today and he wanted his mom more then the horse. Lets see
when he got home tonight he already "kiss'e" it. Thanks ELeanor George
I just wanted to
say thank you for sending the horse so promptly. My grand daughter
age 22 months loves it. Her parents were going out to her other
grandma’s house and she wanted to bring her horse. She wants to
bring it each time they go out. She kisses it and brushes it’s tail.
It will be an heirloom for sure. Thank you for the blessing! Keep up
the wonderful work. Sincerely, A very happy grandmother
